Yup. Und auch noch vor dem Mounten der Disks. Es wird ja kein RMS dafür
verwendet. Eine Quorumdisk muß nicht einmal gemounted sein. Wohl aber muß
sie 1x zum Anlegen des Quorum Files auf der Disks gemounted sein (ist mir
übrigens noch nicht ganz einsichtig). Ein qdsk:[000000]QUORUM.DAT ist
auch kein File für normale Zugriffe. Jeder Zugriff löst einen Bug im Exec
Mode aus, dh. der Process der zugreift wird gekübelt (zB. der Print
Symbiont wenn man es drucken will ;-) oder wenn der SYSGEN Parameter so
eingestellt ist (IIRC ist es BUGCHECKFATAL), dumpt der ganze VMS Knoten.
Also Protection zu (ist glaube ich eh Default) und (SysMgr) Finger weg.

Das tollste Beispiel, das mir über den Weg gelaufen
ist, ist der AlphaServer 1000(A?): wenn man den SCSI-Controller da in den
"falschen" Slot steckte, wechselten die angeschlossenen Platten während
des Boots den Namen - aus DKB wurde DKA... Eine Quorum Disk an einem solchen
Bus muss aber als DKBx angegeben werden.

Da gabe es einem VMS SYSGEN Parameter um dieses Verhalten zu beeinflussen
dh. abzustellen. Ich habe ihn aber nie gebraucht (weiß also seinen Namen
nicht [auswendig]).

Bei DSSI- und FibreChannel-Platten ist es so, dass die Allocation Class
bereits auf der DSSI-Platte bzw. dem FC-Controller vergeben werden. Daher
werden sie auf der Console schon als $1$DIAx bzw. $1$DGAx präsentiert,
und auch so als Quorum Disk bezeichnet.

Naja. Beim FC Controller ist es immer $1$ (für Disks, bzw. $2$ für Tapes)
egal was man bei der ALLOCLASS (bzw. TAPE_ALLOCLASS) einstellt (und die
Disk wird der Console erst mit dem WWIDMGR im SRM von einer WWID auf einen
Disknamen - und jener ohne Allocation Class - gemapped). Und bei den DSSI
Disks/Tapes stellt man es - wie oben gesagt - auf den Platten/Tapes ein
(und damit ebenfalls unabhängig vom VMS SYSGEN ALLOCLASS/TAPE_ALLOCLASS)
