Thunderbird auf Ubuntu 10.04.4, ebenso Firefox: Gibt es Alternativen?

Nachdem wir nun hoffentlich alle unsere Filter angepaßt haben, wiederhole ich meine Frage.

Gibt es für Ubuntu auch brauchbare Alternativen zu Thunderbird und Firefox? Der gegenwärtige Schrott ist kurz und bündig nicht benutzbar.
