USB-Modul ladet sich automatisch - warum?

Hallo,
ich nutze einen Kernel 2.6.11 und habe Probleme mit dem automatischen
Laden eines USB-Modules fuer meine Webcam (pwc).
Das Problem ist, dass das Modul sich automatisch laedt, sobald ich die
Webcam einstecke. Nur warum?
Ich habe

NICHT in den Kernel einkompiliert. Bei USB macht er es trotzdem:

Wie kann ich es verhindern, dass die Module automatisch laden beim
Einstecken?
Insbesondere ist das Modul snd_usb_audio fatal beim Booten, da
komischerweise dann nur noch nach jedem zweiten Neustart, meine
Soundkarte funktioniert (/dev/dsp0 verschiebt sich abwechselnd
nach /dev/dsp1). Das rc.S/S40hotplug script hab ich geloescht, hat
aber nichts damit zu tun.

habe ich einkompiliert, weil ich es wohl fuer meine USB-Wlankarte
(Orinoco-USB) brauche. Das duerfte aber mit dem automatischen Laden
der Module nichts zu tun haben, sondern laedt bloss die Firmware.
Wie kann ich das automatische Laden der USB-Module abschalten?
