target-mode Treiber: bist du denn wirklich sicher, dass dein Engpass in
der LAN-Schicht bzw. in iscsi liegt - und nicht vielmehr schon auf dem
Serversystem? Was hast du denn für eine LAN-Infrastruktur? Wenn du auf
der LAN-Seite Gigabit hast (kostet heute ja eigentlich nix mehr), dann
ist Latency eigentlich kein großes Problem bei iscsi, bzw. die idurch
iscsi hervorgerufene Latency ist nicht wirklich viel größer als die im
FC-Protokoll.

Ich bin mit FC nicht sooo vertraut, doch iSCSI läuft ja auf der
TCP/IP-Schicht. Und die macht nach meiner Erfahrung einen ziemlich
großen Overhead aus. Ich denke das ein SCSI welches in FC eingebettet
ist da doch wesentlich "overheadärmer" sein sollte.

iSCSI ist "SAN für Arme". Das hat durchaus seine Berechtigung, doch
eben sicher auch entsprechende Nachteile.
