Die HD hängt am SATA-II Controller des MB (Asus Maximus Extreme). Der
unterstützt SMART und ist auch alles andere als veraltet soz. Laut
Readme sind alle Voraussetzungen gegeben, damit es funktioneren müßte.
Ich hatte auch schon das SATA CD-Rom abgeklemmt, nachdem das Flashtool
geladen war, damit es nur noch die HD als Laufwerk findet. Aber ob mit
CD-ROM oder ohne, das Ergebnis ist jedesmal gleich. Ich könnte jetzt
noch von meiner Floppy booten und vorher das CD-ROM gleich abklemmen,
aber laut Readme müßte es auch mit CD-ROM gehen.

Und mal ehrlich, eigentlich sollte das Tool einfach die Firmware
korrekt schreiben. Entweder hat Seagate da auch Mist programmiert oder
die Firmware paßt nicht. DANN allerdings haben sie wirklich ein
Problem, denn dann gibt es demnächst u.U. verdammt viele zerfirmwarte
HDs. Es ist nämlich genau das File, welches hinter dem Link auf der
Homepage liegt, das für meine HD passen soll. Ist aber auch nonsens
fällt mir gerade ein. Das Flashtool sagt mir ja, ich hätte keine
ST3500320AS, obwohl die HD hier 100%ig drin steckt. Ich weiß doch was
ich eingebaut habe. Und das Seagate Diagnose Tool sagt mir auch, ich
habe Recht.

Ich würde ja den Support anschreiben, aber die saufen derzeit
garantiert in EMails ab und bis man da wieder eine Antwort kriegt, das
wird dauern. Alles in allem recht unbefriedigend das ganze.
