Sound on 3.5RC1

I just upgraded to KDE 3.5RC1 on SUSE 10 and have lost all sound. The Kmix
app has a red X on the icon and is blank when I open it.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried deleting the sound card in
YAST and reconfiguring it.
