Technica

Is the Technica suite (Typesetting for the Humanities) still maintained? The
latest version in CTAN seems to be from 2006. That would be fine, except
that it refuses to run on LaTeX releases later than 2005/12/01 (although it
apparently works if I modify the .sty files).

If it's not maintained, is there an alternative? I don't exactly remember
why I started using it, maybe for line numbering and wrapping in poems.
