I am using a0poster to typeset a poster. I would like to print an A4
draft on it on a normal A4 printer. I start the document using
\documentclass[portrait,a0,posterdraft]{a0poster}
But this still produces an A0 output, both using latex and pdflatex.
According to the documentation, 'posterdraft' is supposed to generate a
poster printable on A4 printers.
I prefer to generate the poster in its original size as a PDF and scale
it down for printing on a A4 sized paper. Adobe Reader or a similar
program has the option "fit to paper" to scale the output.

Thanks, this seems like a feasible option. It is a bit annoying though,
that I have to open the PDF in Acrobat to scale it and then print it to a
new PDF through a ps2pdf conversion.
I have also tried to figure out how to do the conversion using
Ghostscript (the -sPAPERSIZE=a4 option), but I had no luck with that.
