Hey,

I have currently started using Latex with Bibtex for my thesis. anyway
I have run into a few problems:

1. I have two papers by the same author. After giving them separate
labels, I try inserting them by using \cite{} but when i look at the
bibliography, its doesn't give the author's name for the second
reference. The first reference comes out fine.

2. \cite{} doesn'r return a list of references.

Ok I managed to solve the 2nd problem by deleting all the .aux .loc
and other files and renaming my bibliography to the same name as my
main file.

How do I get rid of the space above the images?

Thanks

would you please start, posting minimal examples?

What images? How are those images included?

You are not being very helpful here...

I'm sorry. I have posted a reply with examples but the posting doesn't
show it. I managed to solve the images problem too by reducing the
height of the images. Thanks for trying.

So you repeatedly resisted posting a minimal example, and now you let
us know you have solved the "images problem", of which none of us knew
nothing about. Great thread.

Steve

I didn't resist. The thread was not updated on my computer. I'm still
having the second reference not showing author's name problem. Can you
try helping me there instead of being sarcastic?

As for the image problem, I was getting a big white space above my
image which i was trying to insert in latex document. I changed the
height of the image a bit and it fit properly without the white space.
I at least din't say I've solved it without saying what I did.

I'm a new user of latex and this thread so I may make some mistakes.
It will really help if you don't put me down.

Thanks

Do you mean instead of an author's name, it shows a line?

http://www.tex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/texfaq2html?label=minxampl

Steve

Yea you're right. The first reference shows up fine with every detail.
The second one only has a line in place of the author's name.

By the way, I wanted to know whether \cite{} should give me a list of
references? Because initially it did (which saved me the hassle of
remembering labels on references) but now it has stopped again. So,
I'm kind of confused.

Thanks
.
