I'm a newbie to Tex and have a serious installation problem.

I recently downloaded the distribution image file (Unix, Win32 and Mac)
for TexLive 2007 and subsequently burnt it to DVD. This was successful.

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate on a new laptop that came preloaded
with this OS. My goal is to get TexLive to run under "Subsystem for Unix
Applications" (SUA) in Vista Ultimate.

I was having some problems doing this, so I installed it to Windows
environment in an attempt to become familiar with Tex, figuring this
would be a solution to the problem. Instead, I'm becoming ever more
immersed in this quagmire.

All I want to do now is remove this TexLive installation from Windows. I
cannot do this with this current configuration of TexLive.

TexLive Installation manual indicate in section 7 and relevant
subsections on p. 18:
"7 Maintenance of the installation in Windows
If you have TEX Live installed, you can use tlpmgui again for modifying
and maintaining your
installation. "

However, in my Start menu under TexLive 2007, I have only the following
selections:
1) DVI Viewer
2) TeX Live Manager

Both seem non-functional and item 2 only have only the following tabs:
1) Run from DVD
2) Installation

When TexLive is run from DVD, I get Adding Packages window. This window
has the following tabs:
1) Adding Packages
2) Removing Packages
3) Manage the Installation
4) Removing the Installation

Unfortunately however, tab 4 will only remove installation that allows
it to run from DVD.

How can I fix this configuration so as to be able to successfully
uninstall complete 700+ MByte TexLive installation and not leave any
remnates behind?

I'd just delete the directory in Program Files, the Start Menu items
and (perhaps) any Registry entries containing "TeX Live". Then I'd
download MikTeX!
