I am writing some software documentation and often need to insert long
Unix commands. Here is an example:
/opt/someTest/jre/bin/java -XX:NewSize=16M -Xmx384M -Xms64M -
Djava.ext.dirs=/opt/someTest/jre/lib/ext:/opt/someTest/lib/base:/opt/
someTest/lib/someComp:/opt/someTest/lib/cache:/opt/someTest/lib/
ntmain:/opt/someTest/lib/someComp:/opt/someTest/lib/time:/opt/someTest/
lib/someComp-DPCSROOT=/opt/someTest package.name.something classfile
I have to insert many of these types of entries and do not want to
specify hyphenation for each one. I also don't want hyphens to modify
how the command appears.
How can I get TeX to simply fill the line and break at the end of the
line?
I've looked around a lot for this and can't find anything.
the seqsplit package does this (it came from a programming challenge at
a practex conference, i believe). the author thinks it's good for dna
sequences, but i bet it would do your job.
get to it via
http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/seqsplit.html
it's also in miktex and tex live.
