Displaying pdftex version info
I wish to display the text 'This document was generated by pdfTeX version
1.21a' (or '1.40.3', or whatever) in my document. Which commands should I
use for this? I see \pdftexversion and \pdftexrevision are available, but
their output is not on the form I require, and I'm not sure how to change
them to make sure the results will work with all old and future versions.
