I had been looking for a way to allow the addition of comments in PDFs
that are generated using LaTeX. After some googling and perusing
through this group I found out that it has to be done with Adobe
Acrobat. With a little more digging I found AREnable (http://
sourceforge.net/projects/arenable/). It enables all of these functions
too, but the bad part is that it violates the user agreement of Adobe
Reader, so it's probably not a possible solution in a lot of cases,
but I just wanted to put the word out there for other people like me
that were looking for this functionality.
To add another LEGAL possibility for people looking for this
functionality:
Foxit Reader allows to add comments. The cost free version adds a note
to the comment that it was created using the unregistered version.
Foxit Reader is available for MS Windows and for Linux (Fedora 4 and
SuSE Linux 10.0)
Have a look at http://www.foxitsoftware.com/
