laprint/matlab and legends

Hi there
A question for the LaPrint users out there (an export plugin for Matlab graphics to include them into a LaTeX document).
Does anyone has a good solution to the problems caused by laprint's
incorrect resizing of legends (see figures, with and without
mathematical symbols)?
Is there some magic setting to be changed somewhere?
Even by using laprint's default setting I get unreadable legends
(overlapped text, small box). I have tried removing any mathematical
symbol from my legends text... to no avail. And there doesn't seem to be much info on this on the Net.
Anyone has a clue?
Thank you.
Thomas
