matrix/tabular with 12 columns...

Hi,
I have not used big matrices with 12 columns before and generally I haven't
used them much, but now LaTeX seem to complain something about too many
columns (that's what I figured out from google)...
Moreover the column width is not constant and I don't know what to do about
this error:

! Extra alignment tab has been changed to \cr.
<recently read> \endtemplate
The minimal example is "ready to go". Just copy/paste the code. All kinds of
improvements are most welcome. If you can make it look like a million dollar,
then that would be great, but if you can make it look decent that's far enough
for me :-)
I don't know which of the two solutions you would pick ; I think solution
number 2 is the better one, but solution number 1 also has its
strengths.... Solution number 2 seem not capable of dealing with 12
columns?
