Problem installing Minion Pro

Hi,

I am rather new to fonts and LaTeX and hardly understand the thing.

For my PhD thesis, however, I wanted to change from Palatino to Minion
(the free version from AR7). This morning I downloaded Minion Pro from
BerliOS.de and installed it in my MikTeX distribution according to the
documentation. Everything went fine, but when I started to compile a
test-file, a problem came up with metafont's handling of .tfm files. I
really don't know how to solve this. It seems (but I am not sure) that
the MnSymbols .mf files are not handled correctly in the process of
compilation; I have checked the version, and as far as I can see it's
the latest: 1.3 (oct 2005).

Is there anyone who encountered a similar problem or knows how to solve
it? Please let me know!

Thanks!
Theo Pleizier

I give you the first row to get an impression of what the problem looks
