I would like to group the references according to entry type, and to
show the entry type itself in the references. this would look like, for

References
articles
[Art1] article1
[Art2] article2
etc
Books
[Book1] book1
[Book2] book2
etc

Is there anyone who knows how to do that? maybe using an appropriate
bst file that does that??
no. any more than there was last time you asked (id

Well, not any less than the last time he asked either. As far as I can
see, the splitbib package (mentioned in the multibib FAQ entry) can
be made to do just that, except that one will have to specify manually
which entries are books and which ones are articles. It could hardly be
easier.

Of course it could be possible by customizing a bibtex style.
if you want a bibtex style to do it for you, you need to develop it
(or find someone else to develop it for you). this may not be a quick
operation.
