Underbracing a whole environment

I had this idea of setting up an "aligned" environment
and then having an underbrace with a comment under
it. However, i can't simply go
....
\end{aligned} _underbrace{clever comment}
because that places the brace to the right of the
environment. Is it doable with reasonable number of
lines of code or does it require one to sacrify a
lifetime of hard work?
