SOrry Lars. esptopdf.
I need to stay with vector graphics, whether its eps, pdf, emf, wmf -
whatever. I need to have scalability without loss - at least that's
what I want. Most graphics are plots or coloured drawings, not photos.
I have figured out the bounding box problem. it's not it. why? I drew a
simple square and a circle in adobe illustrator cs2 and saved it to
both EPS and PDF (within the defined bounding box). PDF printed from
illustrator - perfect. Print the PDF from acrobat 7 and guess what - i
see very small dots around the edges. I print the EPS from gsview -
perfect. I include the EPS in latex>dvi>ps and print from gsview -
perfect. Then I include PDF in latex>dvi>ps>PDF - fuzzy lines. I am so
absolutely baffled! The problem is probably so basic that if one who
knows sees me will think I'm a total idiot. It must be some stupid
setting or parameter thing or some variation thereof.
All I know is that I can download PDFs with vector plots from Journal
publisher and print them (without touching any print settings) to
perfection but when I create a simple vector drawing and try to print
from the same acrobat it gets all messed up.
I saved the PDF in [High Quality], [PDF X3], [custom - no compression],
and other variations.
