`<Ctrl>-c <Ctrl>-s' can be typed in a fraction of a second whereas
`<AltGr>-ß s e c t i o n <AltGr>-7 <AltGr>-0' costs me about three

You don't forget how to walk by using a bicycle for longer distances.

Nobody forces you to use more efficient techniques to enter LaTeX
constructs with AUCTeX. You can still type your \section macros by
hand if you like.
