`<Ctrl>-c <Ctrl>-s' can be typed in a fraction of a second whereas
`<AltGr>-ß s e c t i o n <AltGr>-7 <AltGr>-0' costs me about three
seconds. Now you tell me if this is insignificant.

Nobody forces you to use more efficient techniques to enter LaTeX
constructs with AUCTeX. You can still type your \section macros by
hand if you like.
