Does a batch PDF watermarking program exist (linux or windows)?

Is there a batch hidden-watermarking program out there for linux or
windows? Can Adobe Acrobat Standard, version 7, do batch watermarking of
existing PDF documents on Windows?
I have a bunch of documents created with Adobe Acrobat Standard, version
7.0 to be provided to registered attendees where I wish to watermark
somehow a unique number into each batch of about 100 PDFs that each
attendee will get.
It's OK if it's payware (it just has to work) or freeware (legitimate for
commercial purposes).
The "watermark" can be anything hidden that isn't easily removed by the
students. Each 'batch' of about 100 PDFs would have the same watermark
which would be unique for each attendee.
What batch hidden watermark pdf program would you recommend?
