PDF-XChange Viewer will export a page or entire PDF file to any of the
supported image formats (BMP, JPEG,PNG,TIFF to name just 4) - as you would
expect it also does a great deal more (Allows commenting, Typing, Form
fill/Save to disk etc) and is entirely free.

Hello,
I am looking for a way to extract part of a PDF document as an image file.
This part is defined as a certain rectangular area (fixed offsets and
size) from the first page.
I can already do this manually by opening Adobe Reader and using the
"Snapshot tool" to copy this area to the clipboard, then pasting it in an
image editor.
Does Adobe Reader allow this to be done automatically in some way, or are
there any programs (preferably open-source/free, but really anything) that
can do this?
The image should be in tiff format and only contain the specified area.
But in a pinch imagemagick could crop down and convert it if given the
whole page in any format, so that's not required from the extracting
program.
