Hi Marcin,
Hello Gildas,
For your convenience I made a quick translation of a web page
showing correspondance between MCP & Unix commands.
Have a look at <http://gm83gm83.googlepages.com/en_rosetta.html>
Looks usefull, big thx ! :)
About system monitoring,
1- Unisys provides monitoring systems which can capture, store and
retrieve
a lot of data.
2- If you are considering making your own system,
2-a. The classic way: develop a huge Algol program with a lot of
call to
the MCPstatus interface. Not impossible, but a lot of work.
2-b. A Linux box connecting to MCP thru telnet. This could be seen
as
the poor man's monitoring system but it could be enough for you.
This was ok for me so I made it. In case you want to get the code,
send
me a mail.
I'm not so good with ALGOL so i think i will stand by perl via telnet
version which works now. Currently we use GPM but i want to merge all
of our monitoring systems in one simple web version (Unix, Windows,
MCP, etc.).
I think i will start reading public Unisys docs since it looks like
good place to start :)
Thx again!
Regards,
