Re: Simple Model 1 Hard Drive adapters/kits for sale?

Actually, most places do take a Gerber set of files and I believe that Eagle
has a free design program that puts out Gerber files.
However, I hope you have more luck than when I reverse engineered the Model
I Buffered Interface Cable (electronically identical but with different
internal connectors to change the whole layout to get around the copyright
thing)
.. I pitched it on e-bay with not much success.
I needed a minimum of 20 orders to make it feasible and I got 6, so, I have
a ready to go board for the cable and no big rush to buy them.
I started reverse engineering the Double Density Adaptor, but, when I saw
the poor reception the Buffered Interface Cable got, I dropped that project.
So, yes, it's possible to design and manufacture it, but it's getting people
to want them that's the problem.

That Model 1/LNW & Model 4 drive interface was just what I was looking
for!

Can anyone who is familiar with the production of short runs of circuit
boards comment on what the process would be to get, say, 20 of these
boards manufacturerd?

Is there a standard file that can be sent out to shop the boards?
('gerber' or something?)

Perhaps if that design were modified by someone competent (Knut?) to
make it a universal Model 1/LNW & Model 4 design as well as by adding
the compact flash components then we could make a short run and
distribute to those interested. (Assy/soldering would be required by
the end user I would think.)

Would it be very difficult to redesign and shop for the manufacturing?
