I like the fact that I can see many many messages. Searching is a lot
easier. Also, a drilldown to the cause and to the help is possible by
simply clicking.
But then I may not be the "typical" customer.
Here's from the summary of the online help:
Live EMS Event Viewer: Select to view live EMS messages from one or
multiple Collectors. These Collectors may reside on one or multiple
NonStop Servers. Multi level filter settings and selection criteria
can be used to limit the display of messages to only those of your
interest. User selected settings are stored in cookies for quicker
subsequent use of the feature. Detail information may be obtained for
any selected Event. In addition to a complete Token dump, this
includes any user provided info or system notes from the Operator
Messages Manual for that Event. You may also acknowledge Events using
one of two different methods, one of which can be used to save notes
and generate additional
EMS Event Query: A comprehensive set of selection parameters enable
the user to review previously generated EMS messages from any
available Collector or Log file. These selection criteria can be used
to filter out unwanted messages and display the Events to your exact
specifications. User selected settings are stored in cookies for
quicker subsequent use of the feature. Detail information may be
obtained for any selected Event. This includes any user provided info
or system notes from the Operator Messages Manual for that Event, as
well as a complete token dump.
Token Analyzer: A set of all available Tokens for your selected
Events are retrieved from the Host and made available for
further analysis. The list of Events is based on your
selection criteria from a Settings menu, or directly off a
current display of Live or Query selected Events. A Browser
Window designed specifically for this purpose, enables you to
control the Tokens displayed, and their sort order. You may
also define one or more filtering criteria based on the values
of one or more Tokens. Information can be displayed in a grid
or CSV
I like the Object manager even better.
