Blue Gene is IBM's product name for their latest supercomputer. The
latest LINPACK number for the biggest Blue Gene/L system thus far is
280.6 teraflops, the fastest system in the world by a wide margin.

IBM's current system uses nodes with dual PowerPC 440 CPUs. The next
system (Blue Gene/C) will use IBM's SIMD Cell processor as the CPU.

ASCI (Advanced Simulation and Computing Initiative) is the Defense
department designation for the research/funding source that underwrote
