Free News Servers?

Hi all!
Having finally got around to installing Thunderbird in order to link
to Gasman's excellent NNTP service for WoS and thus catch up on all
the drivel while it was down, I am now remembering how much better CSS
is when you don't have to use Google to view it. Since I'm usually
away from home I can't rely on an ISP providing a news feed. Ages ago
I used to use a free feed from a German university but I've long since
forgotten what it was. Can anyone recommend a free news server? I
don't care if it doesn't carry the binaries groups, I just need access
to CSS and the int-fiction groups.
Actually, is there any prospect of Gasman adding CSS to the
news.zxdemo.org news server [hint hint]?
