Don't feel too bad, I've never taken my wallclock to a trackday. You get custom modders who fix theirs to make them run faster but I'm not into all that.
Reminds me of the time as a six year old when I 'repaired' an alarm clock. I did a marvellous job because I had components left over at the end (think of the cost savings this would mean in volume production) and the thing really ran like stink at over a hundred hours per minute afterwards. My father seemed vastly amused and muttered something about an escapement. I didn't understand, because it wasn't in captivity in the first place.
