Yes, this Black on the Speccy is Unique. I have polished the
Metal-Parts on the Speccy with B2000 (Car-Politur). It´s shining and
protects the lacquer from sweat and small scuffs.

I have not binned. I am still using a 386 (w/o any caches) and 486 for
older (abandoned) DOS Games.

Don´t forget a digital receiver, you need implicitly. Making another
hundreds of electric Watts. And all that for being more identical to
the natures being, as computer-games are doing (Soldier of fortune,
DX9.1 etc...OpenGL 2.0.x?) today. Not to say about digital TV, which is
in my eyes nothing (maybe good for channel-diversity, but the picture
and animation is not better as it has been applied to - The positives
are directly opposite. Not to mention "THE WAIT", swapping channels,
buuuaahhh , boring.) Win Win situation, eh? Not with me. They can
play with words in the nursery school. They started a wrong advertising
campaign, took the good from the other and stashed the bad, where the
other is good as well.

I just need a Word (in a game) and I can see this. Though, I like the
graphic (Dragons Bane, Journey´s End) games more than text-adventures.
I would also accept B/W TV if it would do somthin´ good. But PAL and
PAL+ is absolutely brilliant (depends to the TV-Station). I would miss
it compared to BW, though BW is also making very deep and absolutely
sharp pictures, even it is older (long durability - obviously).

HDTV?? What is this. My TV-Set (80´s Technique) with analog broadcasted
(U-Matic, or Beta-CAM) picture is better than my DVD (800 bucks),
connected to the same TV-Set. Sure.
Well, sound is more clear with DVD, but even that, the analog sound is
more synchron and not so incommodious as the digital. Who cares about
arabic numbers, showing something like 20000 40Khz 20bit 12 bit 16bit
4times oversampling etc etc... Tis´ do net get to my ears. Though I
have to mention, that a Record can have up to 70000 of arabic number
Hertz, hehe .-9 Only beaten by MP3. On the saying-basis, less is
often more......., but please pay a little more :-)))

I remember Micky Mouse Monitors 15" LCD for over 1500bucks. I could buy
three 22" and have nice, fast, colorful and big picture for the next
Twenty-Five Years. This is just 4 or 5 Years before--- I know today you
get it cheaper. But holding out some years with an ol´ Moni could have
allowed you the situation, that you can buy 3 22" for 1500bucks.

Is DVD not better than HDTV?
