Not quite. It needs to be capable of sync-on-green.

It's an Samsumg syncmaster 913N
According to the manual:

Resolution
Optimum resolution 1280 x 1024@60 Hz
Maximum resolution 1280 x 1024@75 Hz
Input Signal, Terminated
RGB Analog
0.7Vp-p Positive at 75 ohms
Separate H/V sync, Composite sync, SOG, TTL level positive or negative.

When running there is only a green colour on the display, same as when I
tested with other monitors without sync-on-green. The reported resolution
onscreen is 1280x1024@75 Hz.

So, is SOG not really sync-on-green?

I have a question. When you've had it work with the other
systems, was it with the same cable? Maybe it is something about the
cable which you have. I've had 13W3 cables which would not allow my Sun
monitors to work with Sun systems.

And -- have you tried any other monitors with it with different
cables? Could it be a problem with the graphics card?

While not an O2, My Indigo 2 with "Extreme" graphics card) is
working very nicely with a 17" Sun CRT monitor which happened to be
sitting next to it. I haven't tried it with the various LCD monitors
which are connected to other systems around the place, this one worked,
and it was close to the system while I have been playing with it.

About time to go in for the "out of box" experience, now that I
have the C compiler (an f77 compiler FWIW) installed, and gotten my
favorite editor (jove) compiled, along with less, gtar, flex, bison and
bzip2. Now I can be somewhat more comfortable with the system.

I tried installing a downloaded pre-compiled ssh (for Irix 6.2,
which is what I am running), but I did something wrong, as it seems to
want some other prerequisites first.

Good Luck,
DoN.
