Hey guys,
I received an old Indy, only the desktop, no monitor, keyboard or mouse.
Can I connect my pc monitor to it using a 13w3-vga converter? Any
idea where to get such a hardware not expensive? Or has it anybody in
used condition for a few bucks or free ;-)? I don't wanna invest a lot
of money, I'm not even sure if the machine works...
You can get an adapter here:
http://www.reputable.com/legacy.html#MONITORS
The page indicates that it'll work on non-sync-on-green (SOG) monitors.
Also check with Ian at:

Both are good to deal with.
You can check if it's working by connecting to power and pressing the
power switch. It should spin up the hard drive, sound a musical chord,
and the power indicator LED should start out yellow and change to green.
If you hear hard drive activity, that's a good sign--wait until that stops,
then briefly push the power switch again. The OS (IRIX) will detect that
and do a controlled shutdown.

Yoko Onos' former driver tried to extort $2M from her, threating to
"release embarassing recordings...". What, he has a copy of her album?
