Should I update my Treo 300?

I've replaced my Treo 300 with a new Treo 300 which has *not* been
updated with the Updater 1.01 from Palm. It seems that I've read there
are pros and cons to using this updater and, since I don't think I can go
back after updating, I was curious why and why I should not update. It
seems that I read that power consumption increased *after* the update,
but I can't find any of those posts now. Any information would be
appreciated.
