Safari - Multiple Desktops - Oddity

I'm running Lion and I use multiple desktops. For some reason unbeknownst all of a sudden Safari, when open, will appear in every desktop. That is, when I switch from one desktop to another when Safari is open the open Safari will appear in the desktop switched to. The behavior I have experienced since switching to Lion is that an open application will appear only in the desktop in which it was opened.

The question is, "How do I correct this oddity and return to the normal/prior behavior?".
