My partner uses aol 9.0 on a mac running 10.3.
There's no such thing as AOL 9.0 for the Mac.
She had a number of
crashes which seemed to start when she could no longer download from
the aol software. She'd click 'download now' and nothing happened.
The crashes meant a re-install of OSX (10.3) but the problem remained.
1) If I sign on to my aol account as a guest through her software I
can download files no problem.
2) If shes signs on to aol.com through a browser she can access her
account and download no probs. Her connection is too slow for this to
be a permanent fix.
1+2 seem to indicate no software or account problem. AOL 9.0 has been
re-installed but still not able to download and there appears to be no
block to downloading in the preferences.
Never liked aol and the above explains why. Any ideas.
And yet you're posting using an AOL address. ;-)
Anyway, as I tell anyone who asks, there are only two types of people in
the world in this regard: People who have AOL problems, and people who
never use AOL. However, running Mac OS 10.3 is never going to work for
her at all. At the very least, it should be upgraded for free to 10.3.9,
but she really has no chance if it's not at least 10.4.11 and the latest
version of AOL for the Mac, AOL Desktop 1.5.
