Transferring a licensed program from a G4 to an Intel Mac Pro?

I have a licensed program running well. Maple 9 to be specific, on a G4
desktop. I would like to transfer it to run on my Intel based Mac Pro.
Both are running under versions of Leopard. I do not wish to buy a
license for a newer version. When I transfer my download CD file to the
Mac Pro, I am asked for the activation code, I enter it. I get a message
that I am properly registered and to restart Maple. When I do so, I get
what looks like a proper startup window. Then a message window appears
on top saying that my license is not valid.
I am not at all sure that an Intel Mac can run this program. Assuming
that the program will run on an Intel Mac, is there a general method for
transferring a program along with its license from the G4 to a Mac Pro?
Where is such a license stored?
