I've never seen any convincing empirical evidence that _either_ way
is significantly better. But I do know that (1) I never overshoot
when I'm going for an edge of screen menu, and (2) I never goof
and click on the menu of the wrong window in Mac OS.

I wish the "Zoom" button on Mac consistently went full screen
instead of whatever size the app programmer thought mmade sense.
I've recently started using Safari again, and it has the irritating
design that it zooms to a few pixels less than full screen.
Consequently, when I want to scroll down, I end up clicking just
off the edge and popping some other window in front of the browser!

But I like the fact that a maximized Mac window can be moved.
Windows, you have to un-max it first.
