Maybe a year ago, there was a comparison between Wikipedia and the
respected Brockhaus (German) encyclopedia.
Wikipedia was at least as good, especially for recent developments.
Of course you should always take it with a grain of salt, but if you
check references cited, and the general tone of a page, you can usually
tell how well founded the page is.
Plus as others mentioned, medicine is not an exact science, and even
experts will not always agree nor will text books. I have some limited
experience there.
