I guess so, but I am always hesitant to use a system in such a state
when it wants to be restarted right away after installing system files.
I am afraid of messing up something in the system. I figure there is a
reason why some of Apple's updates require an immediate restart and
some don't. But perhaps I'm just being paranoid.
In Leopard, I think that updates that require a reboot don't actually
make any changes to the system before you shut down. They just download
everything and set things up so that when you shut down the installation
scripts will be run.
I'm not sure what the difference is between the ones that offer "Not
now" and the ones that want to restart immediately.
