Konsole for Mac OSX.
Under Solaris sometimes I would run a workstation without a window
manager or X-Server, in which case you had to interact through the
"console" - imagine a terminal window covering the entire display.
The main problem with that was that it was incredibly sloooowwwwww. If
you did "less bigfile" then it took forever to page through it as it
laboriously scrolled. Even if you only wanted a single text window
running a shell you were far better off starting the X-Server with a
single XTerm and working in that.
I have never used konsole (I assume you mean KDE's terminal emulator)
but I just looked at the docs and it seems like it is basically the same
as Terminal.app. OK, it has a menu option to make it full screen if you
don't want to see other windows but then you can make Terminal.app full
screen, or just hide all other windows.
By the way, did anyone else notice that Terminal.app gained tabs with
Leopard. I haven't got used to it. Although I make extensive use of tabs
in Safari I still open multiple terminal windows rather than using
multiple tabs in the same window.
