Epson RX 680 Airport Printing problems

I have an Epson RX 680 All-in-One connected to my Intel iMac and set to
"shared". Printing works fine over my Airport network from an iBook G4,
but from a MacBook Pro on the same network printing fails with the
message:
/long path/rastertoescp failed
Print status remains "printing" in the printer application window, but
nothing gets printed. System Preferences panel show printer as "in use".
I uninstalled the printer driver and reinstalled the latest driver from
the Epson site, but this did not help.
All computers running OS X 10.5.5.
Has anyone seen something like this? Got this combination to work?
