Does anyone know why the numeric keypad and other ancillary buttons are

I am sure if it was identical to the wired keyboard (apart from being
wireless of course), more people would probably consider buying one, I know
I would.
I assume there is/was a logical rationale behind Apple's decision to do
this, but I am yet to uncover it.
My perspective is the opposite; I bought the wireless keyboard
specifically because it doesn't include those keys. I never use them
anyway, and I hate the extra space between the alphanumeric keys and my
mouse on full keyboards. I don't even care that it's wireless, I'd have
bought it if it had a USB cable. If it was identical to their current
wired keyboard, though, I'd have absolutely no interest in it.
So perhaps Apple's logical rationale is to spur sales. :-)
