My MacBookPro continually freezes (screen dark, no response) when I try
to Secure Empty Trash and there are a large number of files (over
1,000). This has happened both when files were on a connected Firewire
drive as well as when on the internal drive. And it happens whether
Energy Saver and Screen Saver are on or off.
Is this a known issue with the MBP or Leopard or am I doing something
wrong.
Appreciate any suggestions.
FYI: MBP 15" with Intel Core Duo 2.16 GHz. OS X 10.5.5.
How long have you left it alone? Secure delete can take some time if
there are a lot of files.
The MBP will not respond at all. I force restart and it has deleted some
but not all files. I assume since I can't open the screen that it is
frozen.
Thanks.
