I have an iMac Intel connected to a Netgear Wirless ADSL Wireless router via
Ethernet and Airport.
The internet works fine as does the LAN with my sons Mac which connects ONLY
via Airport. But on my iMac, if I disable the Airport connection, the LAN
still functions OK BUT I lose internect connectivity.
Can anyone explain why and possibly how to make the iMac use Just the
ethernet connection for Lan and Wan.?
It sounds like the DNS entry for the ethernet interface is missing or
incorrect.
Thanks PawStephen and Tom for your help. Ethernet was already top of the
stack but was missing the DNS ip address for the router. All working as it
should now.
Thanks all.
