Heck, Open Firmware isn't even on Intel Macs.
Granted. My initial setup was on a PowerBook G3, which _does_
use Open Firmware. The DSL modem worked fine there.
I got into trouble when I connected the DSL modem to a modern
Intel Mac.
Initially, everything worked okay as long as I stuck to using
the OS 10.5.3 partition on the Intel Mac.
Just curious - I am looking for reasons why a DSL modem refuses to
work with a Boot Camp created partition, yet works fine with a Disk
Utility created partition.
Open Firmware code may be scuttling the Boot Camp created partition?
It has nothing to do with what created the partition, but with what
software is on the partition.
Okay.
On the Intel Mac:

I have alternately installed XP and Vista. Neither of them works
with the DSL modem, so we might rationally conclude that the
Windows software is the problem then?
Keep in mind that the same windows software works okay with
the DSL modem _if_ the same software is installed into "real" PCs.
