(but I guess with Vista's NTSC
requirement, the Mac can't write to its folders)?
No problem, buy and install this "NTFS utility" into
your Mac partition and you will be able to read _and_
write to files located in your NTFS Vista partition.
(while working inside your Mac OS X partition)

For the other way around, while you are working from
your Vista partition, you will need to buy and install
this "MacDrive 7" into your Vista partition and then
you will be able to read _and_ write to files that
are located inside your Mac OS X partition.
(while working inside your Vista partition)

Also, using these two utilities, you will be able to drag
files between the Vista and Mac partitions, no matter
_which_ partition you are working from at-the-time.
...or can I, say, create the XP partition
through Bootcamp and later add a Vista partition after
booting in XP and will the iMac "see" the Vista partition
done the latter way the same as if I had done it
through Bootcamp? (or vice versa, Vista first and XP after
rebooting in Vista)
I do not see any reason why that approach would not work,
however I have not tried it myself, so you are on your own.
Just remember that you will have to buy an additional copy
of "MacDrive 7" to install in the newer Windows partition.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of formatting
the XP partition in FAT32 vs. NTSC
For me, the disadvantage of FAT32 is slower speed when
running demanding XP app's like Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
With Dragon and NTFS, I have no trouble maintaining 336wpm
dictation speed, contrasted with only half that sustained
speed if I am using a FAT32 XP partition.
Practical reason that this is important to me occurs whenever
I have any reason to run another XP background application
while I am using Dragon in the foreground.
In that case, Dragon becomes downright sluggish.
After the computer arrives, should I install the 2.1 version
before I do anything or is that only for if you plan to
install XP SP3 right away (and if I install SP2 do I still
need Bootcamp 2.1 to update to SP3 inside of XP)?
If it were me, I would try to install the XP SP3 version
right away. The worst that can happen is that the install
would fail, in which case you could pop into Boot Camp
and remove the XP partition altogether.
Then re-establish a new XP partition using Boot Camp, and try
your other approach of installing XP SP2 first.
(then later upgrade to SP3 from within XP itself)
