Zip Drive Won`t work

Dropped old Zip100 drive. I could hear it working and the light lit up,
but the computer wouldn`t recongnize it.

Bought new (used) Zip250 drive thinking it was the drive, itself, that
was broken.

Same problem.

Checked System Profiler. The Zip drive shows up.

Icon still not showing up on desktop and can`t access files.

Have tried different disks. Same problem.

Have to eject disk manually.

Any help?

(Sorry so terse. Still dealing with old, broken keyboard.)
