Does anyone know what the Red LED 7 (Checkstop) on the motherboard
indicates?
It should flash once at startup, then go off. If it stays on,
it indicates a CPU hang. This is usually caused by bad RAM, but
the CPU assembly may have come loose, or there may be a problem
with the connector for it (or it could have just plain died)
Thanks, Billy. I did finally get my G5 going again but have continued to
have problems.
See my posted message of a few minutes ago.
I'll run Apple Hardware test and see if that turns up anything.
I have noticed that sometimes all the fans run full blast for awhile even
though a Dashboard Widget gives normal temp readings.
