Wouldn't it be a lot easier to use the keyboard for punctuation? I would
think your "flow" of speaking would be less interrupted. What do you
think? Almost all of it would be just commas and periods. Just 2 keys.
One might think so, but it isn't so. If one is accustomed to dictating
to speech recognition software then speaking punctuation becomes part
of the flow.
It's not just commas and periods--it's apostrophes, quotation marks,
parentheses, hyphens, question marks, the entire gamut of symbols on
your keyboard. As an example, in your post there are no commas and the
periods are outnumbered by other symbols by four to three (two question
marks and two quotation marks, not to mention the numeral 2 (which
should be "two", by the way).
