There aren't too many things I don't like about MacOS over Linux or Windows. However, one thing I definitely do prefer about those OSes is the ability to stretch a window from every corner or edge of the window.

Do any of you know an OSX extension that will let us do that?

MondoMouse. See the my web site for information and a demo.

Thanks for the tip! That's a definite improvement.

Nevertheless, I personally would have had stretching windows not be dependent upon modifer keys, but always be an possible when your mouse is on or near the edge or corner of the front window. I would also use the left mouse button to do that stretching rather than the modifier keys.

I also would allow stretching strictly horizonally (maintaining height) from the left and right edges, and strictly vertically (maintaining width) from the top and bottom. That rather than doing a simultaneous horizontal-and-vertical stretch from the nearest corner.

In other words, I would have had all of the edges and corners of a window behave the same as the stretch box in the lower right.

As I recall, that "Stretch" control panel thingie, back in the OS8 days, drew a small box around all of the windows (always there; no keys toggling it on and off) with corner and edge stretch areas. You click-drag in those borders to stretch the window in that direction, just as you would use normal stretch box.

That would be my personal preference, but this is nevertheless a useful improvement. Thanks!
