I have a file listed in my Preferences folder which contains bizarre
characters, has no icon, disappears when I click on it, and can't be
deleted, even from the terminal. I discovered it because it was
causing an error which prevented me from migrating my account to a new
MacBook Pro. (Grrrrr!)
So, I ran disk utility, which found problems and appeared to fix
them. But now this file is in the trash, and I still can't get rid of
it no matter what I do, and it's STILL preventing me from migrating
the account to the new computer. Does anyone know how to get rid of
this ghost?
Did you run Disk Utility again to make sure it finds NO problems before
proceeding? If not, do so.
